Meet the nurses and medical director behind Gwen Aesthetics — personalized medspa care in San Jose for clients across the Bay Area and Central Valley.

Janet Zarate, TREATMENT PROVIDER (Founder · Clinical Nurse Educator · Aesthetic Practitioner). Janet Zarate is a licensed Registered Nurse and clinical educator with over 17 years of experience in high-acuity hospital care. After earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Arizona State University in 2008, she began her career in adult critical care and soon expanded into emergency medicine, working at a Level II trauma center. In 2020, she stepped into a leadership role as a Clinical Nurse Educator for the Emergency Department in San Jose, where she continues to guide and mentor the next generation of frontline nurses.

Dr. Jamie Chang, MEDICAL DIRECTOR (Emergency Medicine Physician · Supervising Medical Director). Dr. Jamie Chang is an Emergency Medicine physician with extensive experience as a supervising Medical Director, currently overseeing NPs, PAs, and RNs across various clinical practices, including aesthetics, weight loss, wellness, and men's health. He has been the supervising Medical Director for aesthetics and wellness practices for the past two years, ranging from large organizations like Ideal Image to single-location aesthetics practices in Southern California. Dr. Chang has experience overseeing procedures such as injectables, fillers, laser hair removal, and CoolSculpting, and he also currently supervises advanced services such as weight loss, peptides, and hormone replacement therapy.
